Behind the Tissue: Christoph Bispinck – Supply - Chain - IT strategist, everyday cyclist and health ambassador
What motivates me every single day?
It’s the desire to get something going together – both professionally and privately. As an industrial engineer it’s part and parcel of me, and as Head of Logistic Systems at WEPA I have the chance to do exactly that.
My start in the company was certainly unusual: on my first day I went straight to Poland to launch a new software. I didn’t know the language or any of my colleagues, but that's exactly what put me on the right course. For months I travelled to various sites, helped develop processes and built up close relationships. I still have these connections and they characterise my work.
What I love about my job? The variety. I work with colleagues from IT, production and logistics, I support system updates and develop new solutions. Every day is different, and that’s what makes it exciting. I am able to respond flexibly, and together with my team, we find solutions to new challenges even at short notice.

On the personal side I achieve my harmony on two wheels. I’m a passionate everyday cyclist and cycle to work in all types of weather – snow, rain or sunshine. For me, my bike isn’t just a means of transport, it’s a way of life. It provides me with freedom, movement and a clear sense of mind, and gives me a good feeling every day on my way to work.
As well as my main job I’m much involved in the health & wellbeing sector. I organise activities at the Müschede site, I’ve worked as a mentor at European sites and I’ve even motivated colleagues to do some waterskiing – along with sore muscles of course! It was a new experience that showed me how important it is to be open for new developments.
What’s practised at WEPA is also part of my everyday work: treating each other with respect, as well as the high levels of trust and appreciation. That starts at the top and runs through all levels.
What drives me is movement – in my head, in the team and on the bike. And you? What does movement at WEPA mean to you – in thinking, doing or working together?
