WEPA receives BSFZ label for research and innovation expertise
WEPA has once again been awarded the BFSZ label by the Certification Body for Research Allowances (BSFZ). The label confirms the company's position as a leading driver of innovation and also represents fulfilment of the requirements for tax incentives for research in Germany, which WEPA was granted in an initial positive decision.
WEPA is actively shaping the future. We conduct research into technologies and solutions that go far beyond responding to current requirements. Our aim is to develop the industry in a forward-looking manner.
One example of this is the Smart Factory Architecture project. We are developing a new generation of production control systems using artificial intelligence and modern agent systems. Our vision: production facilities that are intelligently networked, learn from each other, react flexibly and optimise processes across locations – all without having to exchange sensitive data. This approach goes far beyond the current state of the art and is actively shaping the future of paper production.
Important funding for research and development activities
The BFSZ label of approval for tax incentives enables us to continue driving our vision forward with innovations even more effectively. This is because tax incentives for research are a programme that provides financial support for research and development activities by reimbursing part of the personnel and external research costs through tax.

Label confirms WEPA's innovation and research expertise
The BSFZ certification is awarded exclusively by the Bescheinigungsstelle Forschungszulage (BSFZ) on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. Companies receive the label from the BSFZ if they are eligible for research allowance funding, i.e. if the BSFZ confirms that they are acting, researching and developing in accordance with the requirements defined in the Research Allowance Act.
