Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc (“Google”). Google uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the online offer by the user is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Google will use this information on our behalf for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Pseudonymous user profiles can be created from the processed data.
We only use Google Analytics with IP anonymisation activated. This means that the IP address of the user is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
The IP address transmitted by the user’s browser is not merged with other data from Google. Users can prevent the storage of cookies by setting their browser software accordingly; users can also prevent the collection of the data generated by the cookie and related to their use of the online offer to Google as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

Vimeo
Our website uses plugins from the video portal Vimeo. The provider is Vimeo Inc., 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA.
When you visit one of our pages equipped with a Vimeo plugin, a connection to the Vimeo servers is established. Hereby, the Vimeo server is informed which of our pages you have visited. Vimeo also obtains your IP address. This also applies if you are not logged in to Vimeo or do not have a Vimeo account. The information collected by Vimeo is transmitted to the Vimeo server in the USA.
If you are logged into your Vimeo account, you enable Vimeo to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account.
Further information on the handling of user data can be found in the Vimeo privacy policy at: vimeo.com/privacy.
Adobe Typekit
Adobe Typekit web fonts are used on this website. Typekit is a service offered by the company Adobe. This service provides fonts that are displayed in the user’s web browser after a server call to Adobe (in the USA). Adobe stores at least the IP address of the browser of the end device of the user of this website. Find more information in the Typekit privacy policy. www.adobe.com/de/privacy/policies/typekit.html
CleverReach
This website uses CleverReach to send newsletters. The provider is CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Mühlenstr. 43, 26180 Rastede. CleverReach is a service that can be used to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving newsletters (e.g. your e-mail address) is stored on CleverReach servers in Germany or Ireland.
Our newsletters sent with CleverReach enable us to analyse the behaviour of newsletter recipients. Among other parameters it is possible to analyse how many recipients have opened the newsletter message and how often which link in the newsletter was clicked on. Conversion tracking can also be used to analyse whether a predefined action (e.g. purchase of a product on our website) has taken place after clicking on the link in the newsletter. Further information on data analysis by CleverReach newsletters can be found at: www.cleverreach.com/de/funktionen/reporting-und-tracking/.
The data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) lit. a GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by cancelling the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the cancellation.
You must unsubscribe from the newsletter if you do not wish CleverReach to analyse your data. We provide a link for this purpose in every newsletter message. Furthermore, you can unsubscribe from the newsletter directly on the website.
The data you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from our servers and CleverReach servers after you unsubscribe. Data stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remain unaffected by this.
For more information please refer to the CleverReach privacy policy at: https://www.cleverreach.com/de/datenschutz/.
Please note that we operate a so-called fan page on the social network Facebook. WEPA Hygieneprodukte GmbH and Facebook Ireland Ltd (“Facebook”) are jointly responsible for data processing in the context of our Facebook page. Explanations on data processing are available both in our privacy policy at www.wepa.de/service/datenschutz.html and in the Facebook data policy at www.facebook.com/privacy/explanation . Data subject rights can be asserted against us and against Facebook. We also wish to point out that Facebook states that it uses cookies, which are also used by Facebook on our Facebook page. For technical reasons we have no influence on the use of such cookies and cannot prevent their use. We are also unable to draw any conclusions about specific persons from the data transmitted to us by Facebook; we only receive aggregated data on the use of our Facebook page as part of “Facebook Insights”. We can at no time assign this data to a Facebook user account. We also have no influence on the further use of data processed by cookies by Facebook.
Facebook’s cookie information (where further information on the individual cookies and their lifespan is also available) states that Facebook uses cookies when using Facebook products (including our own Facebook page) for the following purposes: “advertising, recommendations, insights and measurements”. According to its own information, Facebook therefore uses cookies to help show advertisements for these companies and organisations to people who may be interested in the products, services or charitable causes emphasised by companies and other organisations and to make recommendations for them. Facebook also states that it uses cookies to help companies that use Facebook products to measure the success of their advertising campaigns.
The legal basis for the processing on our Facebook page is Art. 6 (1) lit. f) GDPR, as we use “Facebook Insights” to better understand our customers and their interests and to make you offers that are as customised as possible. Our corresponding agreement with Facebook can be seen at: www.facebook.com/legal/terms/page_controller_addendum.
Chatbot sustainability
If you have any questions about the sustainability of our company, products or services, a chatbot is available on our website under the “Sustainability” tab that helps you find the right answer to your question. To do this, the chatbot analyses data such as blog posts, innovation and sustainability reports, marketing presentations and other content from internal data sources, our website or from the internet. The chatbot is only focused on questions about sustainability and does not answer any questions relating to an individual situation or a contractual relationship.
When you activate the chatbot by starting the chat, a session ID is generated and stored in a cookie for technical purposes to provide the service.
At the end of the chat you will be asked to rate the chatbot and provide information about your user type – voluntarily. Entering personal data is not required and will not result in a corresponding response. For example, neither your name nor information about the company you work for or contractual information is required to process the question you have asked, as the chatbot cannot associate technical documents with an identity. We therefore advise users not to enter personal data.
If you are a customer and have a specific technical or contractual problem, you can ask us your question using our contact form.
The chatbot is operated jointly by our digitisation department and Krallmann AG / Zeitspringer GmbH & Co. KG, and is based on ChatGPT. Session IDs, queries and responses are stored on a Microsoft server (location: Germany West Central). Microsoft is certified under the EU/UK/Switzerland-USA data protection framework.
To improve communication on the issue of sustainability and to further develop our chatbot, we store your data for a further period of 180 days after your enquiry has been completed. Your data will then be deleted/anonymised.
We process this data on the basis of our and your legitimate interest in providing efficient technical support services for general enquiries in accordance with Art. 6 (1) (f) EU GDPR to expand and improve our knowledge base and to provide more appropriate responses.
Further information
We make every effort to take all technical and organisational measures to store your personal data in such a way that it is not accessible to third parties. Complete data security cannot be guaranteed when communicating by e-mail, so we recommend that you send confidential information by post.
Our employees and the service companies we commission are obliged to maintain confidentiality and to comply with the provisions of the GDPR, the Federal Data Protection Act and other professional data protection regulations.
