For the production of hygiene paper we use only fair fibre. By this we mean recycled paper and certified pulps from sustainable forestry. In our hybrid product, we refine the specific properties of both raw materials into high-quality hygiene paper.
Our hygiene paper meets the highest environmental standards. Depending on customer requirements, the products are labelled with the recognised labels Blue Angel, EU Flower, Nordic Svane, Cradle2Cradle, FSC® (FSC-C016151) or PEFC.
All locations of the WEPA Group are certified according to ISO 14001 and ISO 50001. This underpins our commitment to environmental issues in general and our sensitive handling of energy resources in particular. We publish the emission values for our power plant at the Giershagen site (PDF).
As part of our energy efficiency program, we are finding ways to continuously reduce our energy requirements. We have also joined the Lean & Green initiative to reduce CO2 emissions in the logistics sector.
WEPA also expects a high degree of ecological responsibility from its suppliers. That is why we set standards, ensure that they are observed and review this with regular audits.
The WEPA Group maintains a continuous exchange of ideas with various environmental initiatives. It is our concern to realise ecological improvements together based on economic feasibility.
