WEPA has been awarded the German Sustainability Award in the ‘Paper, Cardboard and Paperboard’ category. The award was presented on 28 November during German Sustainability Day in Düsseldorf.

The German Sustainability Award is considered Europe's leading award for ecological and social commitment and is the most prestigious sustainability award in Germany. The award is sponsored by the German Sustainability Award Foundation.

With the award in the ‘Companies’ category, the jury, comprising representatives from business, politics and society, honours 100 companies that provide the most convincing responses to the challenges of sustainability in their industries and drive change. The winners are selected on the basis of detailed sustainability profiles. WEPA particularly highlighted its measures in the areas of recycling, climate, biodiversity and water management, all of which are integral components of the WEPA sustainability strategy.
