The foundation of our WEPA Sustainability Strategy ensures that we care about all stakeholders, act in a value-oriented manner and are committed to people and the environment beyond legal requirements. Engaged and qualified employees are our most important success factor. That is why we want to offer our more than 4,000 employees who work for the WEPA Group at 14 European locations the best place for their talents and skills, their personal development and collaboration. We have firmly established this in our strategy programme “Perform & Transform – WEPA 2023” with the transformation goal “Best place to work” to sustainably strengthen and expand our position as a responsible and attractive employer. The first priority is the safety and health of our employees and the creation of a diverse, supportive and motivating working environment. Our employees guarantee maximum product quality, which we seamlessly assure through our quality management. As a family business, we also value long-term partnerships and take care to ensure that our high requirements and standards are fulfilled along the entire supply chain.

  • To 2024, we will have all WEPA sites certified to ISO 45001.
  • We aim for zero occupational accidents and a 10% annual reduction in LTIR*.

  • We are committed to continuously avoid, reduce or replace potentially harmful ingredients beyond legal limits.

Our employees are the most important success factor in our future-oriented family business. By 2023, we want to have made progress in the areas of Engagement, Qualification, Diversity, and Modern Work Environment.

To 2030:

  • Employee engagement based on a survey with index > 4 (maximum value 5)*
  • Training and continuing education for 100% of employees and evaluation of the training units with a score > 4 (maximum score 5)**
  • Introduction of structured diversity management in accordance with the guiding principles of the “Diversity Charter” and implementation of > 50% of the measures it contains***
  • Increase of external employer rating in the Kununu rating to > 4 and positive evaluation by another external body

Supply chain transparency

Responsible supply chain management is an essential part of compliance for the WEPA Group.

100% of suppliers comply with the WEPA Code of Conduct and the European Directive on Supply Chain Due Diligence.

To 2024:

  • Risk analysis of 100% of our indirect suppliers for human rights and environmental due diligence obligations
  • Our pulp suppliers commit to a deforestation-free supply chain
