Behind the tissue: Pascal Pacaud, Plant Manager

When I went to engineering school 41 years ago, I decided to enter the paper industry out of curiosity. After graduation, I then entered this industry, which proved to be very exciting.

I started as a young process engineer and over time the management part complemented the technical side, which allowed me to develop and take on other roles in different companies. Over the last 26 years I have managed several sites in very different areas of the paper industry and until the end of my career I will remain in the tissue business with WEPA. What I like about this job is the variety: I am responsible for many areas and have to manage technical, organisational and interpersonal aspects. Even if there are difficult moments, it is always rewarding to overcome them. You always have the opportunity to re-motivate yourself and to learn new things.

At the end of the year, it will be time for me to retire and pass the baton to my successor. Through my job I have had the opportunity to travel especially in Europe, but there are many other countries I would like to get to know. I can now turn my attention to that. Furthermore, I can then dedicate myself to my children and grandchildren, continue to renovate my house and take part in more sporting activities again.

I am looking forward to my last month at WEPA and want to thank all my colleagues for the many years of great teamwork.
